Guest Post (VBS) - Food For The Poor (30 Years Of Service)

On a side note I would personally LOVE to do a missions trip with them one day! Meep :] It's on the "bucket list".

*LoveIs* - 3.25.12

Well no doubt it was a super blessed day in Little 5 Points today! Saw two people commit their lives to Christ, so AMEN and PRAISE BE TO GOD for that! One of the men started coming shortly after I started volunteering and I have heard his story and struggles, so I very much thankful that he is now a part of the family of believers. As the weather has turned around, the number of those who come out to join has also increased. Though not official, I’d say we fed around 45 people today. 


May the angels rejoice for those that have been added to the kingdom of God, both in L5P and all over - around the world today!


I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. Luke 15:7

Reading for today : Psalms 91

It is so amazing to see God at work in the lives and hearts people, I do feel truly blessed to be able to be a servant for the King of Kings and show His love to others, until this age is done.

May your week be blessed and you be a light to all those you meet.

WaxNotNeeded - [My] State Of The Union [Mini Address]

“Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy.”

The above mentioned prayer is one of six located on a prayer dice given to me by a long time friend before they moved away onto a new adventure. It is one of my favorite prayers on the dice, because it is a call not to benefit oneself, but to benefit mankind. Admittedly, my view on the world is less than optimistic. I think mainstream radio is too sexual, that the fashion of today beckons us all to be running around fully naked in the next decade and that the world we now live in far surpasses what went on in the former cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Does this mean I am hopeless? No, it means I am a realist. The Bible forecasted the destruction of mankind even before the son of God was born, but we are now witnessing the pages come alive in the foretold script (ever more so rapidly). This generation has grasped upon the slogan of “don’t hate” in terms of one judging another and has become ever more clickish in the hope of general acceptance, but yet all the while searching for a deeper meaning and purpose. Why? Because people just don’t know God (in true form). Am I claiming that once someone comes to knowledge of truth that everything becomes sunshine and roses? Well in a matter of speaking, yes (though of course as we are told in the Bible the path of a believer isn't EASY, but WORTH IT - so I am not trying to sell you on anything).

A life with purpose is a life worth living, a life with purpose (although it has its ups and downs, its smiles and tears), still outweighs a vacant life drifting about with no real design. Sure, we live in a world where some may dispute this and say “it feels good, so I do it” and want to negate my writing, but trust in what I say, because I have lived it. I have gone through periods of the “it feels good, do it” lifestyle all while knowing in the back of my mind what is at stake. In fact, let’s be honest, we as Christians all struggle with it (sin is appealing), but when things get extra tough and my head won’t seem to shut down, I am reminded of the following verse->

No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
Matthew 6:24

So basically, as the Demon Hunter track This Is The Line (awesome song aka my “battle theme song”) ends, “What side are you on?”


Dear Heavenly Father, We come to You today with open hearts and minds, thanking You for calling us Your children, seeing us worthy through Your son Jesus Christ, to redeem us back to You through the shedding of His innocent blood. May we not get downcast by the world we live in, but ever remembering YOU ARE IN CONTROL and that you put this all into motion before the ground we now walk upon was even formed. May we realize that we do not have the promise of tomorrow and that we are called to be a shining light, a leading example today … each and every day … to those that are unaware of the truth and to those who live in the light, but just need encouragement. Show us our purpose in You God and strengthen all of Your creation so we might bring about a worldy revival, where as countless of numbers are added into Your court. Thank You, likewise, for many – many years ago sending Your Spirit upon the Earth, so that we might never be alone. In the name of the Perfect one, Jesus Christ, ><>

*LoveIs* living for Jesus regardless of your circumstances and how it compares to anyone else. It is boldy declaring that there is but One God, who sent His son to die on behalf of EVERYONE's sin and being led by the Spirit daily, showing that love to others.  

Just want to say THANKS GOD for not having the square blow up yesterday after the dry-cleaners caught on fire! You would have almost LOL'd at the sight though, there were like 7 fire trucks out there .. only 1 person tried to pass them all and thankfully they were not hurt (from what I know). In a true lol moment though, as it was on a bit nipper side yesterday am in GA and it seemed brother Dewey and I cooked SO MUCH FOOD, the sounds made even more people come out and get fed. 

Prayer request goes out for Jimmy (the other co-brother-leader) who went to the hospital last week (emergency room) for high blood pressure. Seems that it is back under control now, so thank You Father for that. 

Praise report goes to the Father for three of the members who now have housing, two with (known) jobs and the one which was a victim of addiction is also clean!

WaxNotNeeded - The Long Lost Talent Of Rhyme

Instead of a normal devotional this week,
                I am going to share a rhyming story instead
You see a few days ago I learned out,
                A friend of mine has something in their head

It seems it’s been present there for almost 15 years,
                although you would never be wise to know it
Because this person shows no outward sign,
                and has a will that just won’t stand for it

It turns out that life indeed has handed her a sorted hand,
                but she just keeps on trucking, always thanking the “Big Man”

However not only her pain does she does carry,
                as when her little one was very sick,
                she asked Father God if that burden she could carry

Time will only tell, if that prayer has been granted,
But if broken bones and bruises are a tell-tale sign,
                then it would seem that something has been transplanted

Yet no matter what, both Mother and Daughter keep their heads held high
They see the beauty in almost everything, and look to the sky

Their minds wonderful to thoughts and far off exotic places,
but never forget that they are both here all because of God’s awesome graces

You see with all that life has thrown at them,
                One would think they would be stale and bitter
Yet in fact they grow stronger with each passing day,
                As they know things will only ever get better

Ok, so I haven't written anything that rhymes since my angst younger phases, but I just wanted to tell a story of someone I know and her daughter. I found out this week that both have suffered some ups and downs in the medical field and honestly I would never “think” to know it by interacting with them. Though this person would like to stay anonymous, I would just like to ask that you all keep in your prayers Tank as it turns out she has had a tumor  in her head (situated over/on-top half her brain)! This has been present since she was just a teen which just the icing to her “Murphy’s law” nature. Tanks daughter has had the muscle surrounding her spine removed, but you would never know it as she is a ROCKSTAR in sports. Though charting shows nothing cancerous in the tumor, it does cause side effects (due to location and size) with the most notable being extreme migraines. This may sound presumptuous, but I believe God can do ANYTHING, so I would like (if you do pray), to pray for it to be removed completely. The God I know has made the blind see, brought dead men back to life and parted the waters of a sea, so what task is this to Him, if we should all stand in faith?  I did just want to note before ending that it is very true about Tank trusting in God for everything. Her stance is that she has been given this lot because God KNEW she could handle it and for that Tank, I commend you.

“Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:14-16

Dear Heavenly Father, We come to you today to first and foremost Thank You for speaking us into being. Thank you for giving us life and calling us to be one of Your own. We ask for healing Father today, healing for Tank, healing for the nation, healing for this world. Though we know that things will not be settled (truly) until Your son returns and the deceiver is dethroned, we do know that You are still alive and working for the good of Your kingdom and Your people. May we join together as one under You, not divided by our man-made rules and regulations, preferences and justifications. We praise You Father, give constant thanks to Your son Jesus Christ and may we cling to the Holy Spirit. May we delight in Your ways Father and in turn You delight in ours, as they are one and the same. In the name of Your son, Jesus Christ ><>

Lookie who is back! That would be Mr. Dewey for sure. Seems the doctors wanted him to stay in for another few weeks, but he said “no go”. Everyone was super delighted to see him for sure! He says THANKS EVERYONE, for the prayers <3

Me: Yes, Yes it is.
Me: Oh wait, I mean it isn’t all for me though, I don’t stink THAT bad. I do this homeless ministry in Little 5 Points.
Man: Oh ok, that explains it (smile).

Also, lesson “from the inside” – (to those who have never been locked up) it seems that ladies deodorant, in fact, is stronger than a man’s (for really real). Interesting! So ladies don’t hate if you come upon a guy smelling like tropical breeze, he is handling his own!

Awesome Sunday, great message on Salvation, of course when I heard the start a glimmer hit my eye and heart, in light of yesterday’s devo. Had a slew of people there for service and hot lunch, most memorable quote of the day, “You know what I have been coming up here for 15 years. I have seen people try to shut this ministry down, and to others (outreaches) they have been successful. However, when you have a willing servant, aimed to stand strong in Gods will, you (it) won’t be moved!” Amen!

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

WaxNotNeeded - My Trifold (Equals) L.T.F

On a personal note I just got back from a 3 day trip from visiting my momma. I simply love those times, because it is as if when I return back I have gone on my own mini retreat/revival of sorts. Henceforth, why I so pray *so much* that the government works in our favor when we look into moving her to my current state later this year. Special prayer for all those who were in the wake of the tornados and bad weather this week, my heart goes out to all those who lost a loved one or their home. If any one who reads this was affected or know someone who was, please let me know. I would love to pray on a personal level!

One of the many conversation my mother and I shared this visit was about Billy Graham and his ministry. It seems his name was brought up because some group is trying to remove 30 verses from the Bible to make it more “friendly” to those of different faiths. Admittedly, I do not know the details, nor have I tried to Google, just giving a baseline. She spoke on how that through the years (she is 67), she has watched how Rev. Graham and his message has never changed – it has always been about salvation. Where-as some preachers today, claiming to be “true”, denote that there are other ways to get to heaven besides through Christ (aka being born again, saved, or whatever you’d like to call it – more information on that can be found under Death to Life).   

Of course, this made me respond back with my views on my own (well God’s) ministry that I am a part of. Primarily, it is *LOVE* - to show love, to live love, to except love of others and all the rest, this would be the basis for the outreach (to love as Christ loved us). However, two very common themes I denote (which may be more evident in the book to be published) is about the Trinity and forgiveness. The masses say speak on what you know, right? So, that is what I do. Love is not an uncommon theme spoken by many people, where as they are Christian or not (as reminded by my momma), so I can see the importance of balancing it out with other biblical truths and teachings. Henceforth, I guess why God has led me to do a homeless ministry and devotionals. It is amazing to me to see how all the kingdom of God (His children) inevitably do work together for His good. As we are told in 1Corinthians 3:5-9, some are meant to prepare, some sow, some water and some harvest. Amen for not having to do it all on your own, right? I mean, I like to multi-task, but rather share this responsibility with the family (heehee). 

So to wrap this all up I just wanted to share these verses from Romans ->

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:6-8

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.” Romans 8:28-30

Dear Heavenly Father – Thank You humbly for giving us each another day. We thank you for each step you grant us to walk and each breathe you allow us to breathe. May we use those steps to honor and glorify You alone. May we daily dedicate our life to You and Your will. May You strengthen Your spirit within us and engulf us with Your love. Thank You so much Jesus for taking our shame upon the cross with You and giving us new life, should we chose to accept it, as You had new life when You rose from the grave. May we be mindful of what we say and do as we go through-out our day, thinking first of You – then of others, and then ourselves. In the name of Your son, ><>
